A few moons ago I approached artist Derek Erdman about releasing a compilation of the music he had made. He sent me a box of (nearly) everything he’s ever done, including the original 4-track tapes. He said “Do whatever you want.” A year later we have Coyote (Archives Vol. 1).

Sanzimat International is a new record label set to launch this spring. Run by Edward Anderson from the 1900s and Mazes, Sanzimat will feature new music, reissues and curated multi-media projects available in a variety of formats. Initial releases include new vinyl and flexi-disc from Mazes, archival releases from artist Derek Erdman, an ultra-obscure pop album recorded in the Peruvian jungle and a special blues album from a mystery man recorded with the help of a mini tape recorder and a shopping cart.
